If there is no oxygen/air in space, and explosions need something flammable to expand, how did the Big Bang happen?

Gasses do burn in space, ever heard of this thing called the Sun?
Man, go back to science 101.
Ever hear of a gravitational field? The sun has one. Ever hear of an atmosphere? The sun has one. HENCE the gases that are used for fuel in the sun. I'm talking between planets/suns where those epic space battles take place. OUTSIDE of an atmosphere.
